Eternal Love

   By Jayanthi Manoj

I don’t want

to be the strings your handsome hands deep press

but the music out of the tension of strings.

I wish not

to be the keys on which your fingers would glide

                  but the notes you play.

I cry not

to be the flute which your rounded lips touch

                  but be the musical air.

                  I don’t want

to be just an instrument of your love

but the divine music destined to be eternal.
